At Protección, we are aware of our role in society, and of the importance of the business and our responsibility with the country. We know that we have become one of the top administrators of Pension and Severance Funds due to the loyalty of our clients and the talent of our employees. That is why we give part of the benefits we receive and provide our knowledge to the service of the most underprivileged communities.
For the last five years, we have been working to help people in a situation of risk and vulnerability, by designing and executing programs and volunteer sessions involving recreation, preparing educational material, making site improvements at educational institutions, and providing assistance for the elderly and children and counseling for entrepreneurs.
In 2012, 568 volunteers took part in the volunteer sessions, representing 39% of our total employees, of which 199 are continuous volunteers and 369 carried out specific activities. We managed to involve the participation of 12 municipalities of the 30 where Protección is currently operating.
- 32 one-day-volunteer activities were carried out.
- 291 continuous volunteering sessions.
- 5 educational material marathons with Dividendo por Colombia.
- 5,997 hours of volunteer work were invested, which is 686 hours more than in 2011.
- 877 individuals benefited from the continuous volunteer activities and 1,330 benefited from Christmas activities.
At Protección, we support education through Fundación Dividendo por Colombia and Fundación Mamonal, with the Fondo Unido program in Cartagena. Our intention is for the Company and its employees, with monthly contributions and activities to encourage education, to promote the growth and development of children all around the country in a situation of vulnerability.
